Police said on Monday that complainant Tabassum Abbas, appeared before the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Azhar Ikraam during an open public hearing, alleged that Inspector Abrar Ahmad of Gadai Police station, under the pretext of a long-standing family acquaintance, subjected her to repeated physical assault over an extended period, threatening her and her family into silence.
