Pakistan, Aug. 9 -- The Peshawar High Court has issued notices to federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments following a petition challenging open and unmonitored sale of acid and dangerous chemicals across province.
A bench comprising Justice Ejaz Anwar and Justice Farah Jamshed sought official responses during an initial hearing on Saturday.
Petitioning lawyer Advocate Habiba filed case to enforce Acid Control and Acid Crime Prevention Act 2011.
She said that goal is not to close businesses, but to protect public especially women and girls-by establishing a strict licensing system, mandatory buyer identification, and sales tracking to prevent misuse.
