Pakistan, Sept. 1 -- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has criticised the United Nations over its response to Israeli actions in Gaza and Lebanon. He also said Iran would immediately reciprocate if Washington honours its commitments under a June memorandum. Pezeshkian made the remarks during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Bishkek.

Addressing the SCO Plus meeting, Pezeshkian said the international community faces several serious challenges. He cited military aggression, genocide, war crimes, terrorism and sanctions that Iran considers illegal. He also criticised the UN Security Council for failing to respond effectively.
