Pakistan, Aug. 21 -- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has called for an end to the months-long war with the United States, citing Tehran's stronger position.

Pezeshkian said Friday that Iran should end the conflict while maintaining what he described as power and dignity. He made the remarks during a meeting with doctors.

The conflict remains deadlocked, while talks between Washington and Tehran remain suspended. Iran continues to partially restrict traffic through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, the United States has maintained a naval counter-blockade against Iran. Pezeshkian also defended a June memorandum aimed at ending the conflict, rejecting claims that it represented Iranian capitulation.
