Pakistan, Aug. 14 -- Pakistan collected a record Rs1.567 trillion in petroleum levy during fiscal year 2025-26, according to sources. The collection exceeded the government's target by nearly Rs100 billion. It also surpassed the estimate set by the International Monetary Fund for the fiscal year.

Sources said petroleum levy collection increased by Rs347.24 billion compared with the previous fiscal year. The government had set a collection target of Rs1.468 trillion for 2025-26. Meanwhile, the IMF had estimated petroleum levy collection at Rs1.546 trillion during the same period.

The government also collected Rs50.16 billion separately through the climate support levy. Ther...
