Pakistan, Aug. 6 -- The federal government has increased the price of petrol by Rs4.45 per litre, while reducing the price of high-speed diesel by Rs2 per litre under the daily petroleum pricing mechanism. The revised rates came into effect on August 6 after the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) issued an official notification.

Under the new prices, petrol now costs Rs333.01 per litre, while high-speed diesel is available at Rs383.86 per litre. The latest adjustment changes fuel costs for motorists and the transport sector, with petrol becoming more expensive despite a modest reduction in diesel prices.
