Pakistan, July 31 -- The government on Thursday increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs1.09 and Rs2.42 per litre, respectively, passing on the impact of fluctuating global oil prices after hostilities flared again in the Persian Gulf earlier this month.
Following the revision, HSD will retail at Rs393.04 per litre, while petrol will cost Rs336.15 per litre.
The Petroleum Division's notification said the new prices would be applicable for July 31 (Friday).
Separately, the fifth meeting of the Committee constituted by the Prime Minister to review the petroleum pricing mechanism was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik.
