Pakistan, Oct. 4 -- The federal government signed an agreement with the Joint Awami Action Committee (AJK protest) to end ongoing unrest in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Talks focused on elite privileges and reserved seats for refugees, which had triggered clashes last week. The agreement allows protesters to return home and reopened all roads.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry called it a "victory of peace" and announced the pact on X. Two rounds of negotiations led to 12 key decisions and 13 additional points. The federal and AJK governments, along with JAAC representatives, worked together to resolve the deadlock.
