Pakistan, June 8 -- Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's ruling Civil Contract party emerged as the frontrunner in the country's parliamentary elections, according to early results released after voting concluded on Sunday.

Preliminary figures from Armenia's Central Election Commission (CEC) showed Civil Contract securing 57.14% of the vote based on ballots counted from the first 110 polling stations out of a total of 2,005 nationwide. The early count placed the ruling party well ahead of its closest rivals in the race for seats in the 101-member National Assembly.
