ISLAMABAD, Aug. 28 -- Parliament has demanded a transparent investigation into the deaths of 14 newborns at PIMS. Both houses approved motions seeking special parliamentary committees to investigate the tragedy. Opposition lawmakers also rejected the government's existing inquiry committee.

Health Minister Mustafa Kamal assured lawmakers that authorities would hold everyone responsible for the deaths. He said officials involved in the incident would face action without political interference. He also urged the opposition to provide guidance and practical recommendations for preventing future tragedies.
