Pakistan, Oct. 23 -- Pakistani short film The Last Glance has qualified for the 2027 Academy Awards longlist after winning an international film festival award. Filmmaker Kamran Faiq's project received the Jury Award for Best Short at the 21st Tasveer Film Festival in Seattle. The festival ran from October 13 to 18.

Faiq told that his film was the only entry from Tasveer to qualify for the Oscars longlist. He explained that thousands of short films compete for consideration, while only a limited number advance. However, he clarified that qualification does not mean the film has received an Oscar nomination.
