Pakistan, Sept. 28 -- Pakistan secured the gold medal in Category D at the World Chess Olympiad 2026 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The Pakistan Open team finished at the top of the category.

The Pakistani team recorded victories against Seychelles, San Marino, the Cayman Islands and El Salvador. These results helped Pakistan maintain its position at the top of Category D.

Pakistan also played two drawn matches during the competition. The team shared points with Egypt and Yemen in its other matches.
