Pakistan, April 29 -- The United States has backed a $2.4 billion investment proposal by an American firm to upgrade airport security systems in Pakistan. The plan aims to enhance border control and detect transnational threats using advanced technology. The move could impact air travel security and data systems across major Pakistani airports.

US Charge d'Affaires Natalie A. Baker supported the proposal submitted by Securiport. She urged Pakistani authorities to consider installing Advanced Passenger Information and Passenger Name Record systems. These systems would enable real-time monitoring of passenger data.
