Pakistan, Oct. 8 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to include issues related to used vehicles in Pakistan new auto policy. The decision follows a rise in used car imports after regulations were relaxed. The government reviewed the changing import trend during a meeting chaired by the prime minister.

The meeting examined used vehicle imports under commercial and gift schemes. Officials also briefed participants about recent import figures. According to government sources, Pakistan imported 2,276 used vehicles in September 2026. In contrast, only 48 used vehicles entered the country under these arrangements in May 2026.
