Pakistan, Aug. 12 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan remains far from becoming a social welfare state. He said welfare was central to the country's founding purpose.

Speaking in Islamabad on International Youth Day, Shehbaz highlighted the need for equal opportunities for young Pakistanis.

He inaugurated the Power Sector Innovation Programme, National Youth Employment Policy and Skills Ambassador Programme.
