Pakistan, Sept. 17 -- Pakistan plans to seek a larger currency swap facility from China when the existing arrangement expires in 2027. Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb also expects a US response on a proposed $10 billion facility within two months.

Aurangzeb said Pakistan had fully drawn the existing 30 billion yuan swap line with China. He added that the government has not yet decided the amount it will request under a renewed facility.

The finance minister said China had shown openness to expanding the arrangement. However, he noted that a formal process must be completed before Pakistan makes its request.
