Pakistan, Sept. 28 -- Pakistan plans to secure an additional $500 million loan from the Asian Development Bank for pension reforms. The proposed programme aims to restructure the public sector pension system over three years. Official documents and Finance Ministry sources provided details of the plan.
The proposed loan equals around Rs138.48 billion and falls under the Transforming Public Sector Pension Program. The programme is scheduled to start on November 1, 2026. It is expected to continue until November 2029.
