Pakistan, July 10 -- Pakistan has started implementing the prisoner transfer agreement signed with Saudi Arabia, aimed at allowing convicted citizens to complete their sentences in their home country. As part of the first phase, 30 Pakistani prisoners have been repatriated from Saudi jails, the Pakistani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Farooq, confirmed.

The prisoners were returned in three separate groups after their legal documentation and clearance were completed. They have now been handed over to Pakistani prison authorities and will serve the remaining period of their sentences in local facilities. Officials say the repatriation was done in close coordination with Saudi legal and consular departments.
