Pakistan, Aug. 14 -- Pakistan fiscal deficit fell to its lowest level in 22 years during fiscal year 2025-26. The Finance Ministry reported the improvement in its latest statement. The deficit stood at 2.6% of gross domestic product during the fiscal year. Meanwhile, the country recorded a primary surplus of 2.9% of GDP. The ministry described this primary surplus as the highest level recorded in 26 years. Pakistan has now maintained a primary surplus for three consecutive years.
