Pakistan, Aug. 11 -- Pakistan is observing National Minorities Day on August 11, reaffirming its commitment to equal rights, religious freedom, tolerance and the inclusion of minority communities in national life. The day has been observed annually since 2009, highlighting the contributions of religious and ethnic minorities to Pakistan's development and progress.
President Asif Ali Zardari called for renewed efforts to build a country based on justice, equality, tolerance and service to humanity. He said minority communities had made significant contributions to healthcare, education, national service and other fields while continuing to play an important role in the country's progress.
