Pakistan, Sept. 3 -- Gold prices in Pakistan rose sharply on Thursday, following a strong increase in international gold rates. The local gold price gained Rs11,200 per tola during the day. Gold reached Rs465,236 per tola in the Pakistani market. The increase followed a $112 rise in international gold prices.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, gold also gained value by weight. Ten-gram gold reached Rs398,864 after rising by Rs9,602. The latest increase reversed the previous day's decline in local gold prices. On Wednesday, gold had fallen Rs11,300 per tola.

Internationally, gold prices also moved higher during Thursday's trading. The international gold rate increased by $112 to reach $4,427 per ounce. T...
