Pakistan, April 27 -- The Pakistan Army has reportedly destroyed several Afghan Taliban positions following unprovoked firing from across the border in the Angoor Adda area of South Waziristan, according to security sources.

Officials said the action was taken after militants attempted to infiltrate Pakistani territory but were detected and effectively repelled by alert border forces. Following the failure of the infiltration attempt, militants allegedly opened fire on civilian areas, prompting a strong retaliatory response.
