Pakistan, Sept. 29 -- Pakistan has finalised arrangements to export 200,000 metric tonnes of surplus sugar. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar chaired the relevant cabinet committee meeting on Tuesday.

The committee also approved a monitoring body to regularly track sugar prices in the domestic market. The move aims to ensure that exports do not disrupt local supplies or affect consumers.

Dar directed the relevant ministries to complete pending matters and speed up the export process. He said the decision would support the sugar industry and sugarcane growers while increasing foreign exchange earnings.
