Pakistan, Aug. 11 -- Pakistan's Ministry of Maritime Affairs has approved the first ferry service license for Sea Keepers International, a UK-based ferry operator. The service will connect Pakistan with Iran and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

On August 5, Sea Keepers International officially received permission to start operating ferry routes. This new service is expected to boost trade, tourism, and regional cooperation between Pakistan and Gulf countries.

The Research Centre for International Maritime Law & Practice (RCIMLP) has been appointed as the maritime law consultant. RCIMLP will ensure the ferry service follows international maritime laws and meets global safety standards.
