Pakistan, Aug. 4 -- Pakistan is accelerating its shift towards clean energy, with the government aiming to generate 90 percent of the country's electricity from green sources by 2035. Speaking at the Solar Storage Conference in Islamabad, Federal Minister for Energy Awais Leghari said the country's energy sector is undergoing a major transformation, where the focus has shifted from electricity generation to efficient storage and use. Moreover, he said nearly 55 percent of Pakistan's electricity already comes from hydropower, nuclear, wind, and solar energy.
