Pakistan, July 7 -- Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan have agreed to elevate their bilateral relationship to a strategic partnership during President Asif Ali Zardari's visit to Cholpon-Ata. The two countries pledged to expand cooperation in trade, investment, regional connectivity and security. The agreement marks a significant step in strengthening ties between South and Central Asia.

A joint declaration issued after talks between President Zardari and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov outlined plans to deepen cooperation in energy, agriculture, mining, textiles, the halal industry and pharmaceuticals.
