Pakistan, Oct. 29 -- Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar said the recent Pak-Afghan talks in Istanbul ended without any workable solution. He stated that Pakistan had made several efforts to reach peace but failed due to Afghanistan's lack of action against terrorists. Tarar added that Pakistan will continue taking strong steps to protect its citizens from terrorism.
He explained that the talks followed weeks of fighting along the border and strikes on terrorist camps in Afghanistan. Earlier, both sides had met in Doha and agreed on a temporary ceasefire. The Istanbul meeting was meant to develop a lasting peace plan, but the discussions did not succeed.
