Pakistan, Aug. 28 -- Oil prices fell on Friday as crude markets remained under pressure despite continuing tensions between the United States and Iran.

Brent crude futures dropped 60 cents, or 0.67%, to $89.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude declined 64 cents, or 0.77%, to $82.89. Both benchmarks were heading for weekly losses after gaining for the previous two weeks.

Brent was set to fall 5.3% this week, while WTI faced a 4.3% decline. However, analysts said oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz were showing signs of recovery despite ongoing regional tensions.
