Pakistan, Aug. 20 -- North Korea fired a suspected missile toward its eastern waters on Thursday, South Korean officials said. The launch followed Washington's decision to reduce joint military exercises with Seoul. South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff detected the unidentified projectile but provided few details. Japan also confirmed it detected the suspected launch. The development added fresh tension to an already fragile security situation in the region.
