Pakistan, July 30 -- Christopher Nolan's film The Odyssey has sparked a sharp rise in demand for Greek mythology books across the United Kingdom. The blockbuster has boosted sales of Homer's epic poem and renewed interest in Classical literature. Academics also hope the trend will encourage more students to study Classics.

According to market researcher NielsenIQ, UK print sales of The Odyssey increased by 1,400 percent during the four weeks ending July 25. Emily Wilson's 2017 English translation recorded a similar surge. Bookstores reported growing demand for multiple editions of the ancient epic.
