Pakistan, Aug. 19 -- Federal Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal on Tuesday declared hepatitis C testing mandatory for all employees of the health department, warning that untested employees would not receive their salaries from next month. Addressing the inauguration ceremony for hepatitis C screening, Mustafa Kamal announced a nationwide expansion of screening under the Prime Minister's Programme for the Prevention of disease, urging every eligible Pakistani to undergo screening for the potentially life-threatening disease. He said measures were also being taken to make screening mandatory for employees of all federal ministries, adding that letters were being sent to all ministries in this regard.
