Pakistan, May 18 -- Balochistan has suffered from political unrest, poverty, separatist violence, and foreign interference for decades. In the past, nationalist movements in the province mostly relied on protests, political speeches, and negotiations with the state. Although militant groups existed, suicide attacks, especially by women, were almost unheard of in Baloch society.
After the formation of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) in 2020, a new narrative began to rise. The group presented itself as a voice for human rights, missing persons, and Baloch identity.
