Pakistan, June 9 -- NATO has begun operations to strengthen the defence of its newest members, Finland and Sweden. The move reflects growing focus on securing the Alliance's northern flank. It matters for European security amid evolving regional threats.

According to NATO officials, ground forces have started activities under a new multinational structure. The initiative includes the Forward Land Forces Finland, designed as a rapid-response military formation. A Swedish battle group is also part of the operational deployment.
