Pakistan, Aug. 24 -- The scrutiny of nomination papers of Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema and his son Chaudhry Waleedad Cheema for the upcoming by-election in NA-168 Bahawalpur has been completed, official sources said on Sunday. The National Assembly seat fell vacant following the death of MNA Malik Iqbal Channar.

The scrutiny process for candidates contesting the by-election formally commenced, with Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema and Chaudhry Waleedad Cheema appearing before Returning Officer Ayesha Khan at the District Council Bahawalpur office, where their nomination papers were examined.
