Pakistan, Aug. 29 -- Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has offered himself for accountability over the deaths of 14 newborns at PIMS in Islamabad. He told the Senate that there was still no clear explanation for the tragedy. Kamal said he considered himself responsible as the federal health minister. Therefore, he welcomed an inquiry into the incident and said those responsible would face action.
The minister said a 40-day inquiry would not be enough to address the matter properly. He stressed that the investigation must identify the actual causes behind the deaths.
