Pakistan, June 16 -- Pakistan's Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has announced that the moon for Muharram-ul-Haram 1448 AH was not sighted anywhere in the country. As a result, the first day of Muharram will fall on June 17. According to the committee, no credible reports of the Muharram moon sighting were received from any part of Pakistan.

The meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Lahore under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad. Religious scholars, representatives of the Meteorological Department, and other relevant officials participated in the session to review moon sighting reports from across the country.
