Pakistan, Sept. 5 -- One person died and 11 others remain missing after a mudslide struck China's Jiangxi Province. Torrential rain linked to Typhoon Saudel triggered the disaster early Saturday. Local authorities confirmed the death and ongoing search for those still missing.

The mudslide hit Gaoping Town in Suichuan County at around 4 a.m. Saturday. Heavy rainfall from Typhoon Saudel caused the ground to collapse, according to county officials. The incident damaged 12 houses in the affected area.

Local authorities issued details about the incident in an official statement. They confirmed one death while reporting 11 people as missing. Emergency efforts are continuing as officials assess the situation following the landslide.
