Pakistan, Aug. 30 -- Mohammad Amir has ended speculation about a possible Pakistan comeback ahead of the 2027 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup. The former pacer said his international career with Pakistan is now over after becoming a British citizen. He explained that his new status prevents him from representing another country as a local player.

Amir officially retired from international cricket on December 14, 2024, after representing Pakistan across all three formats. He later obtained British citizenship and a British passport through his wife, Narjis Khan. As a result, he now plays franchise cricket, including the PSL, as an overseas player.
