Pakistan, June 23 -- KARACHI - A mild earthquake measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale jolted Qaidabad and nearby areas of Karachi on Sunday, causing brief panic among residents. The tremor was felt in various localities, prompting people to rush out of their homes.

According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad, the earthquake's epicenter was located near the Malir area of Karachi at a shallow depth of eight kilometers. The tremor occurred suddenly and lasted only a few seconds.

Although the quake caused no damage, many residents reacted with fear. Several people were seen reciting verses from the Holy Quran while gathering in open spaces. Fortunately, there were no reports of casualties or damage to property.
