Pakistan, Dec. 29 -- A tragic derailment of the Interoceanic Train connecting Oaxaca and Veracruz near Nizanda has claimed 13 lives and left 98 passengers injured, disrupting the rail link between the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. Authorities confirmed that 241 passengers and nine crew members were aboard when the accident occurred, prompting immediate rescue operations and medical assistance for the injured.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said the Secretariat of the Navy promptly reported the accident, and she instructed Navy, Human Rights, and Home Ministry officials to visit the site and support grieving families.
