Pakistan, Aug. 22 -- Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi has been fined by Major League Soccer after slapping Philadelphia Union midfielder Quinn Sullivan. The incident occurred during a heated 2-2 draw.

The MLS Disciplinary Committee issued the undisclosed fine for contact with an opponent's face, head or neck. The confrontation occurred during second-half stoppage time.
