Pakistan, Aug. 15 -- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said AJK voters rejected violence, protests and strikes by supporting PML-N in the elections. Speaking at a PML-N parliamentary party meeting in Murree, she said voters made a responsible choice during difficult circumstances.

Maryam said AJK residents voted for development after assessing ongoing work in the federal government and Punjab. She urged the incoming government to begin work immediately and focus on development rather than ceremonies and official engagements.

The chief minister said PML-N had regained its electoral strength and described the AJK results as a response to those predicting its decline.
