Pakistan, July 31 -- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed officials to submit a comprehensive plan within five days to ensure the supply of safe drinking water across the province. Chairing a meeting of the Punjab Clean Water Authority, she instructed departments to accelerate efforts to improve access to clean water and warned that delays or negligence would not be tolerated.

During the meeting, the chief minister approved the restructuring and modernisation of the Punjab Clean Water Authority on the lines of the Suthra Punjab initiative.
