Pakistan, Aug. 6 -- LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday took a test ride of the province's first Super Autonomous Rapid Transit (SRT) system in Lahore. She monitored the road test up to Muslim Town while traveling among regular public traffic. The SRT is a fully electric, eco-friendly urban train developed with modern technology.
During the test drive, Transport Minister Bilal Akbar briefed the CM on the train's features. Maryam Nawaz inspected the train's facilities, including air-conditioning and onboard passenger systems. Residents along Raiwind and Canal Roads expressed joy as the sleek SRT train passed by. The system has already proven successful in countries like Turkey, China, and the UAE.
