Pakistan, Sept. 20 -- In the quiet sobbing moments after the funeral of martyred SP Akbar Khan Shinwari, a young boy stood in front of his father's grave and raised his hand in salute, vowing to complete his mission.

The gesture of the son of the shaheed SP was simple, but it spoke volumes. As mourners gathered around the SP grave amid police contingent salute, the sight of the officer's young son paying his final tribute left many present visibly moved.

For a young boy who had just lost his father with boots on at old police lines at Kohat, the salute carried both grief and an unmistakable sense of pride.
