Pakistan, Aug. 11 -- Bahria Town founder Malik Riaz Hussain has appealed to prominent Pakistani figures to intervene over the seizure and auction of company assets, warning of wider economic consequences.

In his appeal, Malik Riaz claimed that Bahria Town properties were being attached, sealed and sold at unusually low prices despite several related cases remaining pending before courts.

He said the measures could affect thousands of families who invested their savings in Bahria Town projects, while employees, contractors, suppliers and businesses also depended on its operations.
