Pakistan, May 1 -- The total liquid foreign reserves of Pakistan surged to US$ 21,269 million as of April 24, 2026 while the reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan rose to $ 15,827.9 million mainly due to receipt of Eurobond proceeds.
"During the week ended on 24-Apr-2026, SBP's FX reserves increased by US$ 730 million to US$ 15,827.9 million," the central bank reported on Thursday in its weekly statement on the position of liquid foreign reserves, attributing the increase to receipt of Pakistan Eurobond proceeds.
However, the break up of forex reserves depicted that the foreign reserves held by the commercial banks decreased by $ 90 million to $ 5,441.1 million during the period under review.
