Pakistan, Sept. 8 -- The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday sought replies from the Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Lahore Deputy Commissioner over a petition challenging the Jamaat-e-Islami's protest and sit-in on The Mall.
Justice Ahmad Nadeem Arshad heard a petition filed by citizen Naseem Akhtar, who contended that the Jamaat-e-Islami's sit-in on The Mall was causing severe difficulties for commuters and residents. During the hearing, the court observed that sit-in on The Mall was creating considerable problems for the public, with people taking a significant amount of time to reach their destinations.
