U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed intentions to control Greenland for national security reasons.

Lavrov made the remarks at a Moscow press conference, highlighting that the issue reflects problems with former colonial territories. He said the situation is becoming more acute as nations debate control and sovereignty. Lavrov stressed that Washington is fully aware Russia will not interfere or make claims on Greenland.
