Pakistan, Oct. 10 -- LAHORE - All public and private schools across Lahore were ordered to shut early on Friday due to the prevailing security situation, according to the District Education Authority.

In an urgent directive, the authority instructed school heads to notify parents immediately via phone calls so they could pick up their children safely.

The official statement said the decision was made in view of the city's law and order concerns, urging strict compliance from all school administrations.
